***  GENUINE OEM GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT  ***

LISTING ITEM: This auction is for the DRIVER SIDE REAR Quarter / Opera Window Glass for 1974-76 Calais Sedan or Sedan Deville 4-door models.  (See my store listings for other Cadillac models).   I assure you that I FULLY know the application of this glass part (many vendors have assumptive inaccuracies from what I see).

CONDITION:  The nice piece of Cadillac Opera Window glass is in Very Good condition for being 47+ years old.  It's tinted glass (yes, that was optional in the 1970's!) and the tinting is nice and even.  Donor car was from the Midwest USA, so our window tint doesn't "bleach out" with age here.  It has a little less than average wear, therefore earning the "A/A-" grade rating zone (see grading reference section below).  "A/A-" = Near Excellent / Very Very Good Condition - Above Average condition, ideal for cars in more premium shape.  Possibly has a few some random light scratching of minimal or no visual consequence.  No chips in the glass.  The Opera Window glass is ready to install as is or give it a polishing to make it Show Grade.  (Auto window polishing kits available on eBay (using drill attachments), or you can usually take them to a glass retailer or body shop for "like new" polishing services).  Check out my other auction for all of the other Cadillac Sedan Deville side glass pieces, or send me a message.

GRADE for this item:   "A/A-"

(Note: Almost all vintage side glass might have normal-use light scratches or rub-wear, especially on cars in hot climates where the felt window sweeps rotted out and the metal behind them scuffed up the glass.  Typically this quality level (scuffed glass in portions of glass visible when the window is closed) applies for glass in the B+, B or C grade ranges, not in the A- or A grade zone.  Midwestern glass is usually quite preferred, since the weather doesn't allow us to put down our car windows for 4-5 months per year, thus saving wear and tear.  Plus Midwestern glass is far less likely to have any sun bleaching characteristics in the tint.  Remember to grease your window tracks/rollers while you are in there replacing the glass~!

GRADE CHART:

"A" = Excellent, near excellent.  Almost none OR no glass scratches beyond light wear and tear.  Very hard to find in this shape.
"A-" = Very Good Condition, Above Average condition, ideal for cars in more premium condition.  Usually has some random light scratching of minimal or no visual consequence.
"B+" = Slightly Above Average Condition / Good Condition.  This is the most commonly found grade.  Will likely have a scratched "zone" of some sort (typically vertical from missing window sweep sections).
"B" = Average Condition / OK Condition.  Tends to have more than one "scratch zone" or might have a fade condition, some window internal bubbling or haze conditions present.
"C" = Poor Condition.  Complete glass but could have moderate to heavy staining, faded or sunbleach window tinting, possibly chipping, etc.  Still usable but needs serious work.  Very cheap though!
