This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by the Royal Cauldon Manufacturer around 1900.  It is signed by the artist, D. Birbeck, one in a family of renowned English porcelain painters. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches.  The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches.  Both pieces have mountain and meadow landscapes with longhorn steer grazing and drinking in a stream.  The cup has a panorama wrapping around it with mountains, water and sky.  The interior, handle and well of the saucer are gilded.  This artistry is reminiscent of work done by H. Stinton.  It is a fine work or art on porcelain.  #T39
