A sheet showing two plans of towns in Kent, taken from Samuel Lewis's "A Topographical Dictionary of England."

The towns are Maidstone and Sandwich, with the latter map including a plan of Deal.
The Maidstone map shows a detached portion to the south. Both maps are attractively handcoloured (original).

Lewis's Dictionary was first issued in 1831, with editions to 1849. I don't know from which edition this page comes, but it shows in some detail what these towns looked like in early Victorian times. A fascinating record.
The map was drawn by Richard Creighton, and engraved by J&C Walker.
