This is a Japanese hand painted Akai Imari ceramic rice bowl. It has a circle on each side framing a lake scene ringed inside and out with leaves, red and blue on porcelain white. This bowl was high fired for lasting durability.

This bowl measures 4 1/2" in diameter by 2" tall with the lid (11.5 x 5 cm). Having been in storage for almost a hundred years, with exception to a small chip on the lid (see picture 10), it remains in fine condition.
