Handschar Enlisted Mans Cuff Title
Description
The 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the German Elite "Handschar" (1st Croatian) was a mountain infantry division. Comprised of Bosnian Muslims with some catholic Croatians with German Officers and and NCOs. It was the frst non-Germanic German Elite division.
Handschar spent most of 1944 on an extensive campaign against Yugoslav Partisans. Over the winter of 44-45 it was moved to southern Hungary to fight Soviet forces there. It was forced to withdraw to Germany itself where many members deserted and the rest attempted to surrender to the Western Allies.
This cuff title is made from grey thread on a black woven wool base with aluminium silver wire border.
