■ MK-706 review
I've wanted one for a long time, but...
I use Venture JA-1 at home and Katsumi Electric Paddle EK-155 in the car.
But when I'm really pumped up for a move, I take out the equipment from home.
So when I took out the brass paddle I bought at an auction last year after a long time, it had a big scratch and the lever didn't move...shock! ! ! .
After all, I wanted a decent second-generation paddle, so I bought it from "CQ Ohm-san." (Hurry up and open an eBank account!! Hi)
It arrived the next day after I paid for it. (thanks!)

My biggest concern was the lever spacing.
The venture is wide and the lever is thick! "Himond is thin and narrow!"
It was an impression that it was surprisingly easy to hit with the feeling of operating without connecting the cable.
It's just as it is without any adjustments.

The weight is lighter than the Venture. After all, the marble base, which is one rank higher, seems easier to use!
I had the impression that the "Highmond" paddle that I had used in the public operation of the special commemorative station in my hometown was a bit difficult to approach.
Easy to connect cables!
There are three terminals at the rear as they are, and they can be attached by turning screws.
In the case of a venture, it is troublesome because if you turn it upside down and turn the screw, you can remove the parts that hold down the lever and spring.
After all, I appreciate that it comes with a cover! !
The lever is thin, and in the reviews of other stations, it was written that if you operate it strongly, it will hit two, but that's exactly what it feels like, I'm so excited that I can't hit it.
If I keep being called to move around, I'm going to have to put a lot of effort into it, so I'd like to keep using it for a long time.

By the way, the mobile machine that replaced the DX-70 with the Hymond "HK-702" is the vertical swing electric key, and I'm thinking of moving with the [706 Combi] from now on.

■ MK-706 review
I bought this because I wanted to try CW for the first time in 20 years.
I haven't actually emitted radio waves yet, but I tried using it with sidetone.
With HI-MOUND products, there are no major problems.
I am not particularly dissatisfied with the contact spacing and paddle keying pressure, and I am using it as it was purchased.
I used it with the built-in electric key of FT-817.
There is no problem with the electric key itself, but the short point memory at the time of long point transmission is too effective, and the squeeze (iron big) operation is a little difficult. That's what it feels like.
As for the electric key, it seems best to use the circuit that suits your taste.

Perhaps the most important thing for those who are considering purchasing the MK-706 is the narrow paddle spacing.
Strangely enough, I didn't feel uncomfortable with this point.
Is it a matter of getting used to it?
Of course, if you squeeze it tightly, the paddles will stick together, but that's not a problem.
Fortunately, the paddle spacing is narrow, so it can be used like a double-key, but I'm not used to it myself, and it's not a regular double-key, so the space between symbols is extremely short... It seems to be usable.
It is necessary to keep in mind that the keying pressure of the two paddles cannot be adjusted separately.
The weight is good for home use, but it's a bit heavy for transport.

■ MK-706 review
I have a GHD telephone key at home.
Since I am also involved in mobile operations, I had to carry the electric key from home to the car each time, which was very inconvenient.
I was looking for an inexpensive and easy-to-use electric key for my car.
The person who was previously involved in the mobile operation was using Katsumi's electric key to perform the mobile operation.
When I saw it, I thought I wanted one too, so I looked for it on the Internet, but I couldn't get it because it was no longer being made.

One day, when I opened CQ Ohm's website, I saw information that they were newly handling electric keys.
I immediately opened the page and saw what kind of electric key was handled.
Himond's MK-706 caught my eye. It was a price that I thought I could buy this.
But there is a point of concern.
The gap between the wings is narrower than the electric key I have.
I thought it shouldn't be difficult to use after buying it.

So I posted it on the ML of the club I'm indebted to.
The answer there was "It's a matter of taste and habit."
When I ordered it immediately and got the electric key, it was heavier than I expected, and it seemed to be hard to break.
When I installed it on my car and used it, the touch was very soft and "clicked". Since the gap between the wings is narrow, I felt that the movement of the fingers could be done smoothly.
If anything, it seems to be easier to use than the GHD company I have before. (It's just a matter of mobile operation...)
Another cover comes standard with the electric key, so you don't have to make your own or buy it later as an option. Dust does not easily enter the mechanical parts, and maintenance seems to be easy.

I have no concerns at this time. Although it may be because I haven't used it that much.
We would like to continue using this key for mobile operations.

All my products are 100% Authentic.
