Led Zeppelin (1st US Tour) with Alice Cooper (1st Album) At The Whiskey A Go Go In Los Angeles 1968
Incredibly rare.

The genesis of this tour was the cancellation of a concert tour by the Jeff Beck Group, which happened to be managed by Led Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant. Grant contacted the promoters and convinced them to take on Led Zeppelin instead.

To help publicize the band in America before the tour, Grant sent advance copies of the band's debut album to key FM radio stations. The album itself was issued on 17 January, mid-way though the tour.

The interested thing is that while this show was to take place before the end of the year (1968), the schedule was changed and the show in LA happened in January of 1969

And...what about Alice Cooper on the bill!
The band was supporting their first album Pretties For You...

What an amazing double bill!

~ Some ads may appear warped or slanted. This is due to the photography. All ads are cut sharp & neat with clean borders! ~

Concert ads are my absolute favorite type of ad. Why? Because they are packed with amazing R&R history and one-off artwork. These ads were short run. They are mini archives of the bands history. The live gigs are where the legends and folklore were born. In addition the artwork packed in these little ads are often iconic and poster-like. My educated guess based on my R&R memorabillia knowledge makes me believe these ads will increase in value - maybe more so than the poster type ads - THESE ARE THE REAL ADS FOR THE REAL SHOWS - how many can exist in the world!! Plus they look great in small frames on your work desk, as part of a portfolio or scrap book, and even as refridge magnets (you will have to buy the kits seperately).

These advertisements ran in various publications for the purpose of promoting a bands tour or performance. Printed in a variety of sizes (note description), and on various paper stocks from glossy magazine paper to newsprint these RARE ads were often created for a limited time, sometimes running only for a single issue. Because of the limited nature of these ads often times the artwork is different or varied from that used in the traditional promotional campaigns creating rare one offs and variations. These are most often collected and/or framed. As these ads become more and more scarce certain ads are becoming highley desireable for their investment potential. THESE LIMITED PRINT RUN ADVERTISEMENTS ARE BECOMING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND!
