This is a large piece, composed of two tiers of ornate brass with a sizable porcelain figurine on top. The porcelain depicts a French couple courting, having just emerged from their carriage. Two horses pull the carriage, with the driver atop.

It is about 12" long from the bottom most brass, and 10.5 inches high. The porcelain alone is about 9 inches long and 8 inches high. It weighs about 7.24 lbs. This is a MONSTER big piece, and will be a conversation starter for certain!

Inside the carriage, at the bottom, there is a hole through which a light would have been placed, on an electric cord. This piece does not have a cord or light. I assume there is access to the carriage underneath the felt and brass on the bottom of the piece, but I have not messed with the bottom to confirm.

There are other versions on Ebay, marked Capodimonte, that show the exact same piece with a lit carriage or made into a lamp. This piece also has the tell-tale gold scrolling at the base that shows it to be Capodimonte.

Posting this at a good discount because it currently does not light up, but can be made to!

I've been over the porcelain very thoroughly, because this came to me covered in dust and took two hours (and a lot of q-tips!) to clean. I see a few flaws - the woman is missing a bit of her right hand, which was chipped off. Hard to spot unless you look carefully. The driver seems to have some wear to his gloss, on his blue coat. There is wear to the top balls on the carriage, where it was likely picked up. And the original string that goes from driver to horses is missing, replaced with embroidery floss.

There is also a little bit of dirt inside the carriage I just can't get to, it will require a longer q-tip.

I will NOT combine shipping for this and other items, as this will take some extra TLC to ship.

YES, I realize the shipping is high. It is set to show the price USPS will charge to send it to your zip code. If it ends up being cheaper, I will refund the difference.

Thanks for looking!
