Pittsburgh was a hub of design and production of pattern glass in the 1800's. George Duncan, together with his sons, produced excellent examples of Victorian patterns. Using imagery, here we see a graceful heron in a balancing act with bamboo over wisdom.

This clear pressed celery vase is fabulous, with the exception of a small flake from one top edge scallop, and a scratch in the adjoining scallop (Image 6). It has the expected EAPG glow.Dimensions are approximate: 9 1/4" height, top diameter of 4 1/4" and pedestal base diameter 3 3/4".

As with EAPG, depression and vintage glass, there may be slight 'character' marks, bubbles, ripples and mold marks on bottoms or sides from the original mold production process.
