Origin: Germany: No date, ca 1780. Lovely 18th century copperplate engraving with period handcolor of butterfly/moth. Approx. 8x10 1/2". Most likely from Johan Cristoph Esper's "Die Schmetterlinge in Abbil-dungen nach der Natur mit Beschreibungen", published between 1777 and 1801. Very good condition. Title of this print "Papilionum exoticorum. Tab. I", illustrating the Equitum Troianorum, Priamus and Hector species
