The finest precise nib Sharpie makes. A variety of colours to pick from, each priced individually (some colours are difficult to source in the UK and priced according to rarity and availability). These nibs are ideal for permanent small lettering and fine, precise details. Not ideal for colouring in - the fine or broad Sharpies are better for that - also available here in my Ebay shop.
Colours:
We try to offer a good selection of colours, and you will probably find we have the largest selection on Ebay. Photos are edited to be as accurate as possible, as the camera does not always reproduce the colours accurately, but if you are in need of a precise colour, please do not hesitate to contact the seller for advice or confirmation. The names chosen for each colour should also hopefully help you in making the right choices. More often than not, the actual ink colours are slightly more vivid/intense than the photo swatches and the final finish does depend on whether the surface you are marking is porous or non-porous, shiny or matte and also the colour of the surface.
Useful to know:
It is common that occasionally with the ultrafine nibs (some colours more than others) do leak ever so slightly into the cap, although every pen is quality checked prior to dispatch. If this is the case, on receipt or in use, simply wipe the smudge of ink away and you could also insert a cotton bud (stick or Q-tip) into the lid to remove any residual leaked ink.
Additionally, with the ultrafine (some colours more than others) are inclined to be a little temperamental and to come out a bit scratchy to start or if not used in a while - but with a little patience and coaxing - will flow and works best if you don't use a fast movement when using the marker, such as when scribbling or shading. Unlike with the standard fine tips, the ultra fine may require to be left stored upside down for a while or before use and always ensure the cap is replaced properly as is made to be a secure fitting.
Should you leave the cap off or don't replace it fully and find the pen has become dried out, insert the tip into a few drops of Isopropyl alcohol (also called rubbing alcohol) for about 30 mins, then cap the pen and let it rest a while - which should revive the pen (this fluid will also clean off any ink smudges should the tip leak.) This works so long as there is still ink remaining. You will need to gently scrawl with the pen on non absorbent paper until the ink is running at full strength.
The pen does not have a large ink capacity so will run out faster than the standard fine point Sharpies. It is therefore not suitable for colouring in anything more than a small area and ideal for writing and fine detail work. In addition, you do need to use a slower, more precise hand movement as the ink does not flow out as quickly as the fine nibs. Although these are permanent ink pens, the colour can appear lighter or darker depending on whether the surface is absorbent or non-absorbent and on the colour of the surface.
Please do not hesitate to contact seller for any advice. Colours are listed according to seller's own descriptions rather than Sharpie catalogue names, which are often a little confusing and the lid colours can also be inaccurate. Please bear in mind colours can appear different depending on your screen settings and even personal interpretation.
