18th Century Drawing of English Landscape with Lake, Mountains and Cottage

This is a lovely pencil drawing, likely of the English Lake District, with mountains, hills a large lake and a tiny village with a few houses on the right hand corner. It is signed on the back in oxidized ink, "Anne Cliffe". This comes from a series of drawings of the same area that are often signed by different members of the same family with the same last name. It is also signed in the central area at the base, "A.C. fecit" (Anne Cliffe (A.C.) made it). The drawing is on fine wove paper with an 18th century Dutch watermark; (LVG) Lubertus van Gerrevink,  this maker was widely used in England.


Measurements: 9 7/8 x 15 inches

Condition: Good condition. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Minor creases throughout. Two small worm holes in the central area (barely visible). Curling and creasing on corners. Minor stains top right corner. Please see photos
