MCU Speculative First Appearance Key Issue
ANT-MAN | M.O.D.O.K.

As we write this, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is just one-month from its premiere, and while the film's big buzz has been about KANG THE CONQUEROR, the growing buzz has everything to do with the MCU's introduction of M.O.D.O.K. Instead of making the big-headed villain an entity from the outside, the MCU's revised version of the character has brought M.O.D.O.K. much closer to home -- i.e., Scott Lang and the Pym family -- with the reveal that he's a familiar face (Darren Cross), albeit a horribly transformed one, in a floating chair.

Should he survive the film, the changes to M.O.D.O.K. open the door for a myriad of future opportunities, chief among them being the return and legitimization of A.I.M. to the MCU. While the nefarious scientific criminal organization wouldn't be behind the creation of M.O.D.O.K. in the MCU, under his leadership A.I.M. could very well create a female second M.O.D.O.K. as they once did in Marvel's comics.

Although the various stories that told of MARIA PYM, the deceased first wife of HANK PYM, the original Ant-Man, and how A.I.M. both brought her back to life and later mutated her into a large-headed creature like M.O.D.O.K. happened in other, earlier comics,  it's in Quasar #9 where Maria most closely aligns herself with M.O.D.O.K. by assuming the new identity of M.O.D.A.M. -- which, of course, means that she's a Mental Organism Designed for Aggressive Maneuvers

While we agree that having two large-headed freaky characters darting around on their jet-pack chairs is definitely a bit of a stretch for the MCU, seeing A.I.M. literally give Maria Pym the "Frankenstein" treatment and making her a Lady M.O.D.O.K. would be sick and twisted and totally cool to see on the Big Screen -- and it wouldn't be too far from the Marvel Horror side of things that Feige and Co. are slowly bringing into the picture, either.

If it ever happens, remember this: You heard it from us first.
