This is an exceptionally rare and unusual peice, it's so rare that couldn't find any information about it online. The shirt is so old that there is nothing left on the tag, from every clue tho, I belive the shirt is from the 1970s or maybe late 60s. The tee features a scruffy hair surfer dude riding a shark holding a gutair with arrows arround him. Under the guy it says "Surfaris, Research & Development". When I found this the first thing I found while researching was the Band "The Surfaris", I think this most likely what this is related to, I'm not sure if it's an official print or a parking lot tee (bootleg) but because the guy is holding and electic gutair it really pushes me to belive it's surf rock band related. BUT it may not be related to the band, I cannot find another t-shirt like this (it's the only one online) and I can't find any song or record of a tour by the name of Reasearch and Developement. So what else could the shirt be? Maybe it has to do with the word Surfaris which from my reasearch just means to search for good surfing sports and that would explain the R&D (looking for spots). If that is the case it would seem the shirt is still inspired by surf rock and the band Surfaris. Either way, do your own reasearch before you buy, make sure this is what you want so you will be happy with your purchase.
