Wow.  Offered here is a spectacular early to mid-century football jersey likely used by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons football program.  The jersey has the WF colors -- yellow and black -- and mimics the style used by the Deacs in the 1930s (see attached photos).  While the jersey may be from the varsity program, it's also possibly from one of the freshman teams that played in the 1930s.  The jersey is durene with black felt letters sewn on the front and back and a separate black yoke piece sewn around the collar.  The jersey has reinforced elbows, typical of that used by college teams during the golden age of intercollegiate football.  The font on the number 22 is similar to that used by Wake Forest in the 1930s (see attached photos).  The jersey is well constructed and displays good use as shown in the photos.  The player who wore this jersey is unknown but John Polanski, a great fullback from the 1950s, wore #22 for Wake Forest.
