Amazing alarm clock...takes 2 AA batteries. One spring is a little dirty but the clock has been tested and is fully functioning. Back plastics have slightly yellowed but cannot be seen from the front. No chipping of the paint noted on the bells as is common in others. Smoke free pet friendly. Recommend not storing near a window as that is likely what caused the yellowing of the plastics.
