Some information about the artist:

Lewis J. Miller was born in New York City on September 18, 1912. He received his Master of Fine Arts Degree from City College in New York City and did continuing studies at
Hofstra University New York City.

He became the Art Director for a major New York City publishing house and taught art in the New York City School system.

Mr.Miller was proficient and did works of art in all art mediums: oil, watercolor, ink, crayon, lithographs, etching, engraving, woodcuts and mixed media. He developed his own original medium consisting of lithographers ink, watercolor, and gouache, which gave the works of art a stained glass like appearance. Mr. Miller worked in many styles including cubism, realism, abstraction, impressionism and expressionism.

His images were of people in his everyday life, New York City cityscapes, the Catskills, Adirondacks, and Pocono Mountains.

He moved to South Florida in the 1980's.

Mr. Miller received over 100 awards over His life time from local and regional showings. He was recognized and written about by many fine art associations including Hofstra University, Collectors of American Art Inc., Associated American Artists, The Brooklyn Art Museum, The Long Island Art League, The Kaufman Gallery, The Gold Coast Watercolor Society, and the Broward Art Guild. His work has been reproduced by The America Artists Group and The New York Times.

Mr. Miller past away Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Boca Raton, Florida.
