Excerpts from first paragraphs of the Prologue – “trained by his government to kill methodically and selectively, Sgt. Mack Bolan became a death machine during two consecutive tours of of combat duty in Vietnam. An expert sniper, Bolan’s specialty involved deep penetration of enemy territory with specific objectives marked for each mission – North Vietnamese field commanders, Viet Cong leaders, important defectors, etc. So effective was this young sergeant in this highly personal brand of warfare that he became known as the Executioner, feared by the enemy, regarded with awe and admiration by his own comrades and superiors”. “Toward the close of his second combat tour in Vietnam, Bolan was sent home to bury his own family...who themselves had died by the gun” “...convinced that a sinister underworld design was actually responsible for his family’s deaths; it also appeared to Bolan that the police were powerless to act against this “home front enemy,” known variously as The Mafia and La Cosa Nostra. Executioner Bolan decamped from the Vietnam theater and declared a one-man holy war against “the greater enemy,” bringing his jungle-warfare concepts into the American civil community…”

Comments from the back cover – “Mack Bolan is informed that Mafia overlords are meeting in Florida to make arrangements to wipe him out–permanently! He penetrates their interior council, only to encounter the guns of the dreaded Talifero brothers. They are skilled ‘enforcers’ whose cold-blooded modus operandi makes them powerful foes to be feared and respected–even by The Executioner! Overcoming near insurmountable odds, Bolan strikes with devastating force–once more catching the Mafia big shots off guard… Caught in a crossfire between the Black Hand goons and the Coast Guard, Bolan calls on his super-human skill and cunning...and manages to escape unscathed...vowing to continue his one-man war against the Mafia!”

Condition - The book is clean, complete and tightly bound. The cover is unfaded. Other than light scuffing cover wear consists of an about one-half inch long chip of the upper edge of the back cover adjacent to and extending slightly around the upper extreme back cover side of the spine edge. This edge chipping also extends inward, in a lessening manner, across the extreme top edges of the pages of about one-third of the books back pages. This condition defect is significant as this is an otherwise exceptional copy of this book. With the very tight binding of this book the chipped away or scraped portion of the page edges are noticeable only when looking at the upper page edges from the top or when viewing across the top of the back cover edge chip. They are not visible when reading the book. Pages are age tanned. There are no missing, loose, creased or marked pages. All considered, this book with many aspects that would grade much higher can conservatively be considered in good condition.
