Year: 2019

Producer:  Haiwan Tea Factory

Material: High-quality plantation tea.

Harvest: Early spring.

Area: Menghai

Weight: 357 grams.

Each tong has seven cakes, wrapped in cardboard paper like you see in the pictures.

This Ripe Puer tea and the Raw Puer version were released in 2019 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Haiwan Tea Factory.
The name of this product is literally: “Fragrant Gathering for Twenty Years.” Referring to the 20 years commemoration of the factory.

The tea material consists of sun-dried, early spring tea leaves from Menghai (like the Raw Puer version).
The tea leaves are small, medium-sized, the blend has many tea buds, some seed and stems.

My brewing parameters: 6.75 grams of tea in a 90 ml gaiwan.

The brewed tea leaves still have some dui wei (wet pile fermentation aroma) but not that strong. You could drink it now. However, it will benefit from a few years of storage. It also has some fruity notes.

It has a moderate astringency and nearly no bitterness even after pushing it.  It has a  thick and creamy body, fast and sweet huigan that causes one to produce plenty of saliva. It remains both in the mouth and throat for a decent amount of time. It has that slippery sensation at the back of the throat when swallowing.
It remains stable throughout the tea session, with a pleasant sweet huigan. It can give at least ten infusions.

This tea is tightly compressed so you should give it two rinses and have some patience until it fully opens.

It is a solid tea for the price-quality relationship,  superior to many other Haiwan teas. This one deserves adding it to your tea collection.

Teacup: Jian Yao or Jianzhan wares are from Jianyang County level city in Fujian Province.
You can check the  teacup in the last pictures.
Note: The glazing might not be perfect. Also, notice that the glaze pattern after firing is unique in each teacup.
