Yerba Maté Taste

It is fair to describe Yerba Mate tea as an acquired taste, in a similar vein to olives, having a distinctive smokey flavour that is unoffensive and unique, many find yerba mate to be an incredibly addictive taste after a few cups.

Yerba Mate Stimulant

Containing Three xanthines; caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine Yerba Mate is a powerful stimulant, and widely consumed throughout South America, with 90% of Argentinian adults drinking it in the morning rather than coffee. In Argentina, Yerba Maté is readily available in maté cafés, which are as commonplace as coffee shops and cafés in the UK and North America. As well as containing caffeine Yerba Maté tea also contains high levels of theophylline, and theobromine, which are the stimulants contained in tea.

Jitter-free Stimulation

Unlike coffee, Yerba Maté doesn't contain concentrated levels of tannin; this means it can be strong but doesn't get bitter like coffee. Also, Yerba Maté tea won't cause jitters or stomach upsets, as it isn't oily or acidic like coffee.  Yerba mate provides the body with balanced stimulation that many describe as gentle, clean and calm while helping to keep alert, energised and emotionally stable - it will rarely keep you up at night.

Nutritional Benefits of Yerba Maté
