MCU Speculative Movie Story Key 
DEADPOOL 3 (2024)


It's no secret that DEADPOOL's on his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the forthcoming third film in the Ryan Reynolds' trilogy -- and the Merc' with a Mouth is bringing WOLVERINE (HUGH JACKMAN) along for the ride.  According to informed sources - but not yet verified by Reynolds or Marvel Studios -- 'Pool will be utilizing technology he obtained from CABLE in Deadpool 2  to tool around the timestream, and its that act that brings him to the attention of Loki's TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY. 

With the film's Wolverine apparently plucked from the timestream sometime before the events of Logan, Deadpool 3 fits squarely into the Fox Universe of the X-Men films, and its this position that helps support the film's overall premise that Deadpool's mission in the movie is to "kill" the other characters of Fox's former movie franchises like Fantastic Four and X-Men. 

That premise, of course, finds its inspiration in the October 2012 weekly series Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe, a relatively violent if not borderline horrific pre-Halloween story from well-known horror comics writer CULLEN BUNN. Now a decade old, the series has remained a steadfast collectible for Deadpool collectors and Marvel and horror fans in general, and high-grade sets can cost a pretty penny.

MCU collectors looking to trim down those costs may want to focus on the series' two most collectable and movie-relevant issues, the premiere Issue #1 and Issue #3 with its "dispatched X-Men" themed cover by artist Kaare Andrews.  The cover depicts the X-Men's Blackbird stealth jet crashed and burned, Xavier's wheelchair in flames, and in the foreground, Cyclops' visor apparatus laying on the ground. Deadpool walks through the scene, a sword in one hand and Wolverine's torn and bloodied cowl in the other. 

While we may see other Fox characters in the film, Deadpool 3's focus will be on its mutants -- and that puts Issue #3 as the book with the most MCU bang for our buck.  Pick up a High-Grade copy for your collection today!
