• The air filter is a very important element of the car engine intake system. The air filter, consisting of a housing and a replaceable filter element, is placed on the pipe supplying atmospheric air to the intake manifold and then to the engine. Its task is to clean the air necessary for the combustion process taking place in internal combustion engines from particles of impurities such as sand, dust or soot, thanks to which it reduces the mechanical wear of the engine, ensures a high level of engine power and suppresses the noise of the intake air.
• Over time, the air filter is clogged with dirt. Its exploitation is manifested by an increase in fuel consumption and a decrease in engine power. Complete clogging of this filter will stop the engine. In addition, less air does not provide optimal cooling of the intake valves, which accelerates their wear.
• It is recommended to replace the cartridge every 15-20 thousand km on average, in accordance with the car manufacturer's requirements, or more often if the vehicle is used in places of significant air pollution, such as unpaved roads. Replacing the air filter should be entrusted to professionals due to the risk of contamination entering the intake system.
