Design concept focused on analog specifications

New Nutube vacuum tube in the pre-amp.

The MV50 incorporates Nutube, a new vacuum tube co-developed by Korg and Noritake Ise Electronics, in its pre-amp. By taking advantage of Nutube's characteristics such as miniaturization, low voltage, and power saving, a head amp of this size was realized. The characteristics of the vacuum tube sound, such as rich overtone components and a sense of sound pressure, are still present.

Tri-polar tube structure realizes a pleasant sound unique to vacuum tubes and excellent linear characteristics.

Like conventional vacuum tubes, Nutube has an anode-grid-filament structure and operates as a triode vacuum tube, and like conventional vacuum tubes, it produces rich overtones characteristic of vacuum tubes. By applying Noritake Ise Denshi Co., Ltd.'s fluorescent display tube technology, the structure has been devised to save power, reduce size, and improve quality compared to conventional vacuum tubes.

Design concept focused on analog specifications

The MV50 is designed to analog specifications down to the smallest details of its parts, and its circuits, including Nutube, are constructed using a vast number of analog elements. In addition, a special circuit that constantly changes the operating point is used to reproduce the wonderful dynamic characteristics of tube guitar amplifiers. This is the authentic analog sound that has been favored by guitarists for more than half a century.

Equipped with an EQ switch to get the sound according to cabinet size

When connected to a small cabinet, such as VOX's new BC108 cabinet, the DEEP mode on the EQ switch can be used to compensate for the low frequencies while reducing the high frequencies. The EQ switch also has a FLAT mode for connection to larger cabinets, such as those with four 12" speakers. This allows the MV50's potential to be fully utilized without sacrificing the characteristics of the speaker cabinet.

Cabinet simulator useful for line recording

MV50 is also equipped with a line/headphone output, so it can be connected directly to a mixer or audio interface and used as an amplifier for recording. It also features a cabinet simulator circuit that perfectly reproduces the air and characteristics of a cabinet. The amplifier is simulated in a real recording studio through high-end microphones and vintage microphone preamplifiers, including miking techniques used by skilled engineers, so you can record with an authentic sound.
