Antique Portrait Of Lady Wood Frame Noble Woman Victorian Print Vintage Unique!.

I bought this portrait of a lady in Victorian garb in an antique store probably 25 years ago. She has a red wrap draped around her shoulder. The bodice, back, and sleeve of her dress are visible. She is wearing her hair up in a coiled braid, with a modest crown on top of her head and soft curls framing her face. She has a double strand of pearls around her neck.

Judging by the crown and finery, I think she is some kind of noblewoman.

I am working under the assumption that this is a print, since there is a slight sheen to the portrait, but I’m not sure.

The outer frame is brown wood. Under the glass (that is just glare in the lower right-hand corner, BTW), there is a gold, wooden interior frame surrounding a maroon, velvet mat. Within that is the oblong portrait.

There are a couple of little flecks of what appears to be paper on the inside of the glass, visible on the right hand side. My guess is that the paper originally on the back of the frame crumbled off and some bits got into the space between the glass and mat. The velvet mat has a bit of lint on it.

I’m selling this exactly as I found it. The back is taped over and has a loop for hanging.

The overall piece measures 7.5” H x 6.25” W and about 1” thick. The gold interior frame measures measures 6.5” H x 5.5” W. The velvet mat measures 5.25” H x 4.25” W. The oblong portrait measures 4” H x 3.25” W.

I am selling several other items as well and continue to add more. Right now, I’m selling a lovely Baccarat crystal vanity set—a scent bottle with a stopper and lidded jar. I will actually be listing some Victorian-era china pieces (a hand-painted bowl and vase) within the next few days, and other decorative antique and vintage items as I’m able to stop agonizing about what to let go of. Also, some antique jewelry…I have a ring listed that is almost 300 years old.

Take a look at my other listings, and follow me to keep up as I add more!
