Well, it's not the ugliest wallpaper I have but you won't see the other one - it's really ugly!  This is the Marjorie Daw Wallpaper Combo of two pieces of wallpaper on one sheet and was reproduced from a 1925 wallpaper sample book. The top piece has an intricate pattern popular in 1925 from top to bottom and the lower piece has a wainscot that is a split wall with an intricate pattern on the top piece and a solid color on the wainscot section.   To fit to your rooms, trim from the bottom edge of the pattern piece.  To fit the wainscot paper, cut the paper off at the top of the chair rail, place the solid piece on the patterned piece and adjust to fit your room by trimming to fit at the bottom.  You may overlap the pattern with the chair rail.  Carefully cover the cut edge of the chair rail with a permanent brown marker.   I made this combination to decorate a room with one or two walls that are the full pattern and other walls or rooms that would have a wainscot.

The top piece of the wallpaper is approximately 10.2"w x 3.25"h.  In the real world, the pieces would be a little over 40 feet wide by 12 feet high.  This is enough wallpaper to cover two quarter scale rooms that are 3" deep, 4" wide, with a 3" ceiling height.  The top piece of the wainscot piece is 2"h x 10"w and the solid red wainscot piece is 1.5"h x 10"w.

Marjorie Daw, born in 1902, was a silent film star from 1914 to 1929.  She was at the height of her career in 1925 and what better way to honor a celebrity than to design a wallpaper pattern in their name!  Well, there were a lot better ways but then we wouldn't have this wallpaper.  For some reason, the 1925 sample book had several wallpapers named after women who were famous at the time.  Another wallpaper from this book is Dorothy Perkins who, at 17, was the youngest woman ever convicted of murder in New York City and was an inmate in Sing Sing for four years.
