This is a cancelled stock certificate for 100  shares of Allied Van Lines, Inc. Class B common stock. From its inception, in 1928, until the the late 1960's Allied Van Lines was said to be exclusively owned by its family of agents.  And it was.  The company reorganized in the 1960's and created two classes of stock.  One share of class A stock was issued to each of the allied agents, for each of that agents operating business locations.  Class A stock was the voting stock so the agents held all of the voting stock of the corporation.  A class B stock was also created.  That stock was publicly owned and traded over-the-counter in the market place. Class B stockholders had a financial interest in the success of the company, but no voting rights. This, therefore is an interesting piece especially if you are a collector of historic transportation related documents or Stock Certificates specifically.  I have three of these available.
All are signed by the President and the Secretary of The Company.  They bear different dates in 1972. These certificates are about 8 by 12 inches in size and is in excellent condition.  I combine shipping to save you money if possible in the case of multiple purchases. So, if you purchase or win more than one of my listings, let me know. Do not pay until I send you a revised combined invoice. Thanks for looking and good luck.
