Commemorative UK annual set for 2013 from The Royal Mint. This set features proof versions of the key British commemorative coins issued in 2013. In this year we marked the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen’s coronation with a special £5 Crown as well as 150 years of the London Underground with two new £2 coins featuring the instantly recognisable roundel and a stylised tube train. The Royal Mint also looked back into coinage history with another Two Pound celebrating a historic British gold coin: the Guinea. Two ‘Floral Emblem’s £1 coins (England - oak and rose - and Wales - daffodil and leek), plus a reissue of the classic Christopher Ironsides royal arms 50p round out the set. All the coins in this set feature Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse. These ‘commemorative’ sets come in an attractive, embossed black leather folio containing a hardback, velvet-lined wallet with a sleeve for an information booklet and a certificate of authenticity. The seven coins in this set are presented in a double sided clear case which allows you to view both sides of each piece without direct handling, thus protecting the fine proof finish. Just 10,000 commemorative sets were issued in 2013 by The Royal Mint and they’re a great way to add the year’s special coinage designs to your collection.
