The AC-Tone is a sister model to the long-selling PlexiTone from Carl Martin, with a British overdrive sound that is pleasantly crunchy and overdriven. It has the same character of the drive section as the foundational AC-Tone.

The variable range from the minimal setting to the full ten state is wide, allowing for a wide range of sound makeup from boosted to driven sounds.

Product Overview

The AC-Tone Single Channel is a smaller, single-channel version of Carl Martin's popular AC-Tone family model.

It is a driving pedal with one overdrive taken out of the AC-Tone. The Drive knob has a wide range of adjustment, from booster-like use to a small crunch.

The power supply is a 9V DC power supply for convenience. (*But since there is no battery box inside the chassis, it can only be operated with an AC adapter.) The AC-Tone has become more accessible due to its smaller size and the fact that it can be easily powered together with other effectors.

The AC-Tone's overdrive will give you the distortion character and quality of any amp you use, and you will enjoy the superb overdrive that Carl Martin produces.

Level

The Level knob controls the overall level of the effect.

This knob is the basis for adjusting the balance between backing/soloing and bypassing.

Cut

The Cut knob is the overall tone control knob.

It controls the overall tone, which is increased by turning the knob clockwise.

Drive

The Drive knob controls the amount of overdrive.

By adjusting the amount of distortion with the Drive knob, you can create a driving sound with a sense of speed, from booster-like use to crunch to overdrive.

Bypass.

This switch turns the effector on and off.

The LED in the center of the unit lights blue when the effect is on.
