Carl Martin is a long-established Danish brand of analog pedal effects. The company has many loyal users, especially European professionals, and is also well received by Japanese guitarists who are particular about their sound.

In its more than 20-year history, Carl Martin has released many types of effect pedals, and the Quattro, a multi-effect pedal for electric guitars, is especially popular. The Acoustic GIG is the acoustic guitar version of the Quattro, and was developed in response to requests from many Quattro users.

The Acoustic GIG combines the essence of many of Carl Martin's most popular pedals into a single pedal specifically designed for acoustic guitars, and it is not only great sounding, but also easy to use.

The Acoustic GIG is the Quattro for acoustic guitar, a simple multi-effect pedal with the bare essentials.

The compressor section, which is a transplant of the circuitry of Carl Martin's long-selling Compressor/Limiter model, is located at the beginning of the effects chain. The compressor section is the first in the chain of effects, with simple controls that create a crisp acoustic guitar sound.

The echo section is next in the chain and delivers a vintage-style tape echo sound. The delay time can be set with the tap tempo footswitch, and the unique "dotted eighth note" switch can be pressed for a slightly different echo nuance.

The reverb section is a hybrid of analog and digital reverbs that produce a warm, vintage-style sound that makes acoustic guitars look glossy and beautiful. The boost behind it adds 15 dB of gain to the clean. For example, when soloing, the volume can be increased without changing the sound quality. Furthermore, it does not sound "rambunctious" when using piezo pickups.

Finally, there is a 3-band semi-parametric EQ section that is a direct port of Carl Martin's popular 3 Band Parametric Pre-Amp, which shapes the guitar's tone.

Between the booster and EQ sections, there is a send/return for adding effects to the chain. A spare DC out is provided in the rear to power the effects.

Other features include a phase switch to avoid feedback, a mute switch to turn off the overall output, a tuner that works with the mute switch, and a balanced DI out with ground lift switch. The amplifier has all the necessary and sufficient functions to create a great acoustic guitar sound.
