A very nice  example of a

Great War

Embroidered Winged Brevet

for a

Royal Flying Corps Observer

1912-18

The World War One forerunner of the RAF

The Royal Flying Corps

was created on April 13th 1912,

before combining with the

Royal Naval Air Service

6 years later, on April 1st 1918, to become

The Royal Air Force.

An issued & used white-on-black brevet

measuring some 3.5" in length,

it has been removed from a tunic

at some point

and the front is a little grubby due to age/usage

and there is a tiny amount of mothing near the wing tip

(as seen in the above images)

Nevertheless another cracking & iconic surviving souvenir

of Britain's First World War Air Arm..

Thanks for looking..!
