Never used.  

It has two swing handles and could easily be used as a 9 picnic basket (Appoximately 9X9X81/2)

The measurement does not include the handles in the height of the basket. The handles add another 5 in to the height.

The lid is attached with leather straps at the back and a leather loop to secure the wood knob in the front.

Very beautiful basket in great shape.
