Compressor Types

The compressor is simply a pump and can be either of variable or fixed displacement, it pumps both refrigerant and oil through the air conditioning system.

The compressor has two purposes, one is to receive a low-pressure condition at the compressor inlet, and the second function is to compress the low-pressure refrigerant vapour into a high-pressure vapour.
