This bag is from southern India karnataka lamani gypsy.this is a marriage bag worn by the bride groom at time of marriage.

The pattern of embroidery is chain stitch

The gypsy  Women are known to wear very very colorful and beautiful costumes and have mehendi tattoos on their hands. They use mirror chips and often coins to decorate. Their ornaments are made up of white metal(german silver), silver rings,bangles, coins, chains, cowry shells...also they used to use them as community currency in old time.
