This is a very rare set! Rust Craft of Boston was a very early greeting card company, but I see some boxed items like this for sale on ebay where the box branding looks just like on this one, but the items in the box are different than this. (For example, there is one containing Tiny Ten Pins, one with a glass measuring spoon in it, one with a glass fruit knife, etc.) My best guess is that this doll furniture is from the 1920s or 1930s, but I have no way of knowing for sure. It could be as early as 1914-1915, when Rust Craft moved to Boston.
- The box is 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" x 1-3/4" high. It does have wear and age to it, so take a look at all of the photos for condition details.
- The furniture is very simply made from wood and nails, with no paint on it or varnish.
- The cups, saucers, pitcher and rectangular bowl are crudely made, likely in Germany long ago, and are unglazed porcelain, I think. Some of them have some brushes of a pinkish red, but some don't. The pitcher is glazed and doesn't seem to go with this set. All of them were in this cute little box when found.
- The table and chairs match what is depicted on the top of the box.
- Box has the number "527" printed on the top.
Please take a look at all of the photos and let me know if you have any questions or need additional photos. Check out my other listings, too, including other vintage doll items, as I'm happy to combine shipping whenever possible. Thanks!
