This item became available for sale as a liquidation of a large scale private European royal artifacts collection. 
Presented is a portrait (miniature) of Count Felix Felixovich Surmakov-Yelston (1887-1967), later Prince Yusupov. On this painting he is only 16 years old (1903) and it is an exact copy of larger scale painting by famous Russian painter Valentin Serov. 
Prince Felix Felixovich Yusupov, Count Sumarokov- Easton was a Russian aristocrat from the Yusupov family, who is best knows for participating in assassination of Grigori Rasputin and marrying Princess Irina Alexandrovna, the only niece of Tsar Nicholas II.
The measurements of the hand inlay rosewood frame: approx. 4 1/2’’ tall x 3 1/4’’ wide;
The measurements of the miniature: approx. 2’’ tall x 1 5/8’’. The portrait is hand painted on rare animal bovine and it is antique. The quality and the level of artistry of the painting are superb, the frame is also handmade and the highest of quality.
