DAS West Virginia Red Buds Marble
Neon Green Beauty
MINT
Run Date: 10/22/2020

I usually try to offer the older JABO marbles that have very interesting and collectable features about them. This includes the JABO marbles that have aged over a decade or so that seem to have more value and chance of appreciating (much like a fine wine). I am, after all, a Sonoma County wine country resident. :-) However, once in a while, I will offer a more modern DAS marble when it is really outstanding and this is one of those cases. This Red Bud marble run by DAS has got to be one of the best runs in the past 10 years. You don't see many Red Buds for sale because I think folks are just hanging on to all the good ones. The larger lot sales are a bit of a gamble because it's hard to get all mint marbles that way. In this case, what you see is exactly what you get...a truly mint collectable.

In any case, here is the information about the marble: the first thing that strikes you is that Neon Green pigmented glass that shines like a beacon. This lime green color has some aventurine flakes distributed around within the swirl. I actually don't know if these flakes were part of the green glass or if another type of glass was mixed in with the lime green swirl. In any case, this produces a real interesting sparkling effect.  It is not quite as strong sparkle as gold lutz or Mica, but it is definitely something you can notice with your naked eyes as you rotate the marble in front of a light. In addition, we have a couple thin swirls of baby blue and navy blue in this marble. Lastly, if you look close, you will see a fine red oxblood line. I think this fine oxblood line is a nice feature even though it is very subtle. Overall, this represents a nice family from a wonderful DAS run.

I take high resolution pictures with my Canon Rebel DSLR camera with built-in flash. This way, you see exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate my marble from all angles so that you get to see all sides, not just the "money" shot. This marble was made on the 3/4" marble machine and it measures 0.737" in diameter with a pair of electronic calipers.
