The completely unreleased live music of the late 1960s, when he was reaching his maturity, was discovered and released on the prestigious Impulse label of jazz, which celebrated its 60 year anniversary this year!

Monk's unreleased live music has been released in the past, but the big difference is that it was recorded at a regular high school in Palo Alto, California.
In October 1968, when Dr. King was assassinated and the nation was reeling from racial discrimination, Monk performed in response to the desire of a high school boy to unite people through jazz.
