JABO Foxfire 2
Ebony & Oxblood Aventurine
MINT -
Run Date: 4/17/10

This Foxfire 2 marble has a beautiful white opaque base glass found in most of the marbles from this Foxfire 2 JABO run. The color palette on this marble is a study in contrast between the classic bronze and copper swirls that resemble tree roots growing around the tiny sphere. Other marbles in this run had lighter baby blue and azure blue colors that would give a nice pop to the overall look of the marble and brightens the surface nicely. However, this particular Foxfire 2 marble is different than these two other families aforementioned above from the same run. Please allow me to explain...

This Foxfire 2 marble has a unique combination of colors that we don't find much on JABO marbles. My collection of Foxfire 2 marbles has about 2-3% of this family, so I must assume they are somewhat hard to find. Regardless, the fantastic contrast between that jet black ebony glass and that bright red oxblood glass is just so eye-catching. I really like this marble. It's got a bit of a masculine feeling due to the colors (no offense intended ladies). The green aventurine adds to the sizzle and pop that we all crave as marble collectors. I would give this marble a 10 out of 10 if we were rating on color alone. There is a very slight imperfection that I will describe below in detail...

I try to take pictures of multiple angles with my DSLR camera to show you exactly what you are getting. These are optimal lighting conditions to show as much detail as possible. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the sizes of this particular marble is 0.727" in diameter as measured with electronic calipers. Note: the reason for downgrade from full mint is due to an extremely shallow crease that is hard to capture with a photo. If you search for it, you might not even find it. You have to run your fingernail across all 360 degrees and feel for a slight depression, but it is not easy to find. Visually, it is virtually invisible to the naked eye. Technically, it would be located in the middle of the last picture. I hope this helps.
