A beautiful old piece of sterling silver by Towle. It is the Old Master Water Goblet, measuring approximately 5 3/4" tall
This goblet is the only one that we have; it is an estate item and as such it is pre-owned, used and vintage. I m not sure of the exact age.

127 grams = 4.4 oz

No monograms, markings, inscriptions or personalizations of any kind.

Marked: Towle Sterling 268 (see photos)

Difficult to make a "fair and accurate" description of the condition, but let me first emphasize that I think it is in good condition with minor light dents. If it had deep dents or sharply dented silver it would be unsightly and near impossible to repair and I would not consider it in good condition.
- The foot has a small/very small dent on one side - you can see it in the photo of the bottom of the foot, as it presents less than 100% circular when viewed that way. On a hard table top it does not sit 100% flat but when sitting on a table cloth it does not move/sits flat.
- The Old Master pattern is beautifully defined and has a clear high relief. It stands out because it still has the old dark patina on the lower/non-raised parts, however, if you dip the goblet to clean it this patina will likely disappear.
- The goblet stands straight as it should.
- On the lower bowl, basically at the widest part of the curve, where the goblet bowl starts its upward trajectory, there is a shallow thumbprint size smooth dent. The dent could possible be smoothed out with the proper tools and it may have been attempted to be smoothed, not sure. It is not ghastly.
- Continuing the upward trajectory from the lower bowl dent described above, there is a smaller dent in the shape of a short straight line, almost as if hit by a knife blade while doing the dishes or similar event. The line is a dent, not a scratch in the surface. Measuring approx 1/4" long.
- The top edge, where the rolled edge forms the mouth of the goblet, is smooth and without any dents, scratches or imperfections - I am sure that you will appreciate how wonderful this is.

I have in the above tried to give you a fair, accurate and detailed description of the condition of the goblet. It seems like a long list of imperfections when put on paper, however, like I stated in the beginning, I think it is in good condition. Considering its age and scarcity and our reasonable price when compared with similar items, it is in my opinion a good deal for the buyer.

We do our best to wrap and protect the item properly for safe shipment while also keeping the cost of shipping down.
