Weyrich, Fred
In the following years Fred Weyrich worked as a "house singer" for the NWDR in Hamburg and released his first records as a solo singer. In 1954 he sang a duet with Lys Assia on the song "Schweden-Mädel", which became his first chart success and reached number one in the hit parade. With "Deinen Namen den hab ich vergessen" (I forgot your name).
he achieved his second chart success in the same year (# 27). In addition to his solo records, Fred Weyrich released several singles together with Rolf Simson as "Fred and Rolf".
At the age of 39 Fred Weyrich started to produce other artists. He worked successfully with artists like Heidi Brühl, Hildegard Knef and Alaxandra. With Peter Frankenfeld and Lonny Kellner he did the radio show "Peters Bastelstunde". He was also very successful as a songwriter.
