In 1952 Eva May became a member of the Starlets. In 1953 she was discovered by Kurt Edelhagen as a solo singer. From 1953, Eva May released singles under her own name. "Perlen, Gold und Edelsteine" (1956), "Schau mich nicht so zärtlich an" (1956) and "Das Lied, das meine Mutter mir sang" (1957) were her first successes. With Karin Kyra, another Starlets member, she also appeared as "Geschwister Huber".
Unfortunately, Eva May was not able to place in the German charts, but her records enjoyed great popularity. At the end of the 70s, she ended her career as a singer and worked as a prompter in a theatre in Hamburg.
