This valentine is magnificent!  It is huge - 11" tall and 8" wide.  It is four layers - the cardboard back, parchment paper, ruffled celluloid, and an embossed, die cut valentine in the center that opens.  There are no marks on the back - no previous owners names or notes.  There isn't an indication of where it was made.  It consists of a cardboard back that has a die cut hand colored parchment layer, then die cut gilt accented, ruffled celluloid, held in place by 4 brads, then a lovely rectangular, embossed, die cut Valentine that opens to a sweet message.  I have really examined the celluloid ruffles, and they aren't even.  I can't tell if there are any missing pieces, or not.  It really displays well.  It would make a marvelous gift!  It dates to around 1910, and is a true antique, not a reproduction.
