Dai Vernon's Triumph effect is an example of almost perfect magic -- the effect is crystal clear; the handling is natural; and the magical correction of a deck mixed faceup and facedown seems truly impossible, which leads spectators to assume that the magician must a world-class sleight-of hand artist, or has sold his soul to the devil.

So when faced with near-perfection, we magicians must find ways to improve on it.   :-)

Well, among the excellent variations on Triumph, Francis Menotti has added another.  Also excellent.   His Dissolve deck allows for the spectator to actually see the moment of magic -- the cards are shuffled faceup and facedown (as in the original Triumph effect), and then the deck is repeatedly riffled.  As the deck riffles, the spectator can see faceup and facedown cards, but with each subsequent riffle, there are fewer mixed up cards.  The third or fourth riffle shows the deck is completely corrected, with the exception of one reversed card -- the previously chosen card.

It is a Visual Riffle Reversal Correction -- or VRRC, for short.  :-)     It looks extremely magical, and enhances the original Triumph effect because the handling is just as clean and natural.

Menotti has taken a fairly well-known gaffed deck and added an additional level of gimmickry.   (Though it is interesting, he admits that he was not familiar with that deck when he independently created Dissolve, probably because that deck was created almost 75 years ago, and is not seen much these days.)    The added gimmickry allows for the VRRC effect.     And although this is another gaffed deck to carry, Menotti teaches an additional excellent signed card to pocket effect that can used as a lead in.   

Some added benefits (besides the VRRC effect) are that the cards can be shown truly mixed up and down, before the VRRC, and that the entire effect can be done "in the hands" without a table.

The final reason I recommend this deck is that it can be used strolling, with no reset -- Menotti teaches three variant handlings, but I think the "No Reset" one is the best.

Last comment:  although the gaffed deck does a LOT of the work for you, the handling does take practice.  You will need to practice until you get the "knack" and timing of the visual reversal correction.   It is not complicated, and not hard, but will take some time to get your fingers accustomed to the necessary handling.
