Coin sample 1859, minted from 500 silver. The front and back sides have a protruding edge with 130 inward-facing teeth. The edge of the coin consists of many vertical notches. On the obverse of the coin in the central part there is an image of the Small State Emblem of the Russian Empire of the sample of 1856. On the emblem is a double-headed eagle crowned with two imperial crowns, above is the same crown, but larger, connected with the lower crowns by a fluttering ribbon of the St. Andrew's Order. The eagle holds a scepter with its right paw, and an orb with its left paw. The coat of arms of Moscow is placed on the chest: St. George on a horse, striking a serpentine dragon with wings with a spear. The Moscow coat of arms is surrounded by a chain of the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called. On the raised wings of the eagle are the coats of arms of eight kingdoms (four on each wing). On the left are the coats of arms of the kingdoms: Kazan, Poland, Tauric Chersonesos, as well as the coats of arms of the great principalities combined into one: Kyiv, Vladimir and Novgorod. On the right are the coats of arms of the kingdoms: Astrakhan, Siberian, Moscow and the Grand Duchy of Finland. The tail of the eagle is stylized. To the left of the tail - the letter "E", to the right - the letter "B" (the initials of the Minzmeister of the Mint). On the reverse of the coin, the denomination is indicated in the center: the number "20", under it the word "KOPEEK". To the left and to the right of the numerical designation of the denomination there are two stars, above the number is the imperial crown. Below the face value is an ornament in the form of two stylized lines with a rosette between them. Below - the year of minting "1916", even lower - the letters "С.П.Б.", meaning "St. Petersburg". Along the edges of the coin there is a wreath of two branches tied at the bottom with a ribbon.
