Beautiful Tibetan GAU made of Tibetan silver with coral

A very nice handwork from Nepal.
I bought the amulet from a Tibetan who lives in exile in Nepal.

The Tibetan amulet can be opened like a small box. The so-called Gaus are worn around the neck by Tibetans. They are used to store religious lucky charms and medicinal herbs. Often they are also used as "portable shrines".

The beautiful pendant is made of Tibetan silver with copper and silver decorations. On the obverse is a double thunderbolt (Nepalese: Dorje, tibetan : Vajra). On the back is the endless knot, which in Tibetan stands for endless love and endless life. The Ghau can be worn from either side.
