The SC (System Controller) board is a hot-swappable Single Board Computer (SBC).

It provides management interface to the Mediant 8000 and is responsible for system configuration, status monitoring and high-availability operation.

Two SC boards are provided for high-availability and are installed in slots 1 and 2 (color coded red).

SC board based on SUN CP2300 SBC, runs SUN Solaris OS

The SC board is designed according to PICMG standards for high-availability systems. It supports hot-swap operation, system management and environmental monitoring.

The SC-1 board incorporates a 650 MHz UltraSparcTM processor with 512 MB memory and uses the robust SolarisTM operating system environment enhanced for advanced high-availability features.
