Hummel figurines are porcelain figurines based on the drawings of children by Berta Hummel, later known as Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. Franz Goebel, porcelain maker, acquired the rights for Hummel’s drawings and began making the figurines in 1935. Hummel figurines are distinguished by their markings on the base of the figurine.
