Exciting set for the collector of nursery rhyme jewelry or for a child beginning to collect. This is a rare set by Ballou. The four characters include:
Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary (how does your garden grow?)
Little Jack Horner (sat in his corner eating a Christmas pie. He put in his thumb and pulled out a plum ...)
Mary Had a Little Lamb (or is it Little Bo Peep?)
Little Miss Muffet (sat on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey ... Along came a spider ...)
This set has garden Mary barefoot, Jack with a man bun, Miss Muffet complete with spider, and Bo or Mary with her white-fleece sheep.
The pins are adorably tiny. Some enameling is gone. Probably 1950s.
Rare set!
(Only one of the pins is marked Ballou because a set)
Note: An English set of nursery-rhyme jewelry sold for ... $20k
