• This Japanese dragonware teapot bears the bird in a circle mark, believed to date back to the 1920s - 1930s
• Background color is a dark red, with heavy accents of gold
• Hand painted
• Depicts the ancients (gods) in brightly colored attire
• Dragon head handle on the lid
• Spout is a dragon neck
• The dragon's body and tail wraps around the lid and the top of the teapot in raised relief
• The dragon's claws are in a raised emerald green color
• There is some loss and nicks to the gold, showing the white porcelain below
• Also has rubs and wear and some scratches evident in the red paint
• Measures 7 1/4" from spout to handle; 6 3/4" high to the top of the lid
• This is a fine example of Japanese dragonware and a nice piece to add to your collection
