All our records go through 6 steps process:
- Preliminary cleaning with distilled water
- Deep cleaning with AIVS solution, and vacuumed by VPI
- Ultrasonic bath, followed by distilled water rinse
- Zap with static gun
- Replace inner sleeve with anti-static inner sleeve
- Replace outer sleeve with new outer sleeve
Visual Grading Guidelines
- Very Good Plus (VG+)
- Media:
- Very light scuffs or scratch
- Sleeve:
- Very slight ring wear
- Spindle marks may be present
- Picture sleeve and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners
- Slight signs of wear, and may be marred by cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner
- Very Good (VG)
- Media:
- Heavy scuffs
- Long or several scratches
- Sleeve:
- Obvious ring wear
- Some/Medium wear
- Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached
- The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time
- Good (G), Good Plus (G+)
- Media:
- Extreme scuffs
- Significant scratches
- Sleeve:
- Seam splits
- Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present
- Poor (P), Fair (F)
- Media:
- The record is cracked, badly warped
- Sleeve:
- The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all seams and heavily marred by wear and writing
- The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it
- Inner sleeves are fully split, crinkled, and written upon
